Switzerland Tourism will be exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show that will take place on 24-28 May 2022. Its entry, A Swiss Sanctuary, was designed by the British landscape architect and garden designer Lilly Gomm and will compete in the ‘Sanctuary Gardens’ category.
On the initiative of Switzerland Tourism, and in partnership with the Ticino Region, Bern Region and Lake Geneva Region, the garden will highlight some of the many reasons to visit the picturesque cities and scenic countryside of Switzerland.
Described by designer Lilly Gomm as ‘an imaginary personal haven that draws together the unique flora typifying Switzerland’s different regions’, A Swiss Sanctuary will mix alpine and Mediterranean planting to illustrate the country’s distinctive and rich natural landscapes.
It will also draw on the Swiss ethos for sustainability and convey the year-round appeal of this destination – spring for culture and festivals, summer for hiking and outdoor activities in the Alps, autumn for food and wine, and winter for winter sports and pure white panoramas.
Switzerland Tourism and its partners are thrilled that their proposed garden has been accepted by the RHS jury to exhibit at this prestigious event.
