According to a study from July 2021 on global podcast consumption, the number of podcast listeners worldwide has steadily increased and is predicted to rise even further. In 2020, the number of podcast listeners worldwide amounted to 332.2 million internet users, while this number has grown to 383.7 in 2021.
Podcasts Attract Wealthier & Educated People More
It also attracts the educated and relatively wealthier sections of the society more. In fact, it’s 45% more likely for a podcast listener to have a college degree, and 68% more likely to have a post-graduate degree. They are also much more likely to be HNIs (high net-worth individuals), with them having a 45% more likelihood of having a net household income of over $250,000, which is a quarter million dollars, annually!

Ross has handed over the apron at the well known restaurant to two-star Michelin chef Mickael Viljanen. Lewis said words could not “describe the journey I have been on” but said that he felt it needed a fresh energy now to go forward. The pandemic gave him time to reflect on his career and felt it was the right time to step away.

I have been so fortunate to have met such varied people from all walks of life, both domestic and international". Ross is now based at his new home - Osteria Lucio which evolved from the friendship that grew over many years – and many meals – between Michelin-starred chefs Luciano (Lucio) Tona and Ross.
